The primary objective of this paper is to create an integrated AHP-BWM model aimed at assessing and ranking different maintenance strategies within Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the construction sector. Despite the extensive research conducted on maintenance strategies and their related tools and techniques, there has been limited investigation in prioritisation of these strategies for specific equipment of construction SMEs. To address this deficiency, this research is undertaken to rank different maintenance strategies for specific equipment of a real case study. Specifically, three decision making criteria of cost, added-value and risk along with five maintenance strategies of Preventive Maintenance (PM), Emergency Maintenance (EM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) were chosen to be considered in decision making framework. According to the obtained results, Pdm, Em, CM, PM, and CBM are the main outputs of AHP and BWM, respectively. Additionally, specific maintenance strategies of all equipment of the case study are determined by AHP and BWM. Finally, some implications and research directions are discussed at the end of this paper.
