Abstract
|
In this study, to obtain the highest amount of lignin and recover a pure structure, the lignin was successfully extracted from industrial waste black liquor which was supplied from Iran wood & paper industries-Chouka factory through acid precipitation method. The PH effect of black liquor solution on the amount of precipitated lignin, and its chemical structure using FTIR analysis was investigated. The results indicated that the maximum amount of the extracted lignin was related to PH=2. More importantly, the chemical structures of the extracted lignin at pH values of 1 and 2 were completely in correspendence with lignin in the previous studies. These results confirm that a highly acidic environment is required in order to extract lignin from waste alkali black liquor.
