Abstract
|
In order to obtain the theoretical basis and reference for the selection of low ductility aluminum alloy connection methods,7075-T6 aluminum alloy sheet was used for clinching, self-piercing riveting (SPR) and resistance spot welding (RSW). Tensile and shear tests were carried out on three kinds of joints, and fatigue tests were carried out on clinched joints and SPR joints. The fatigue fracture of SPR joint was analyzed by SEM and EDS. The results show that the static performance of self piercing riveting joint is the best, followed by clinched joint and resistance spot welding joint. The fatigue life of SPR and clinched joints increases with the decrease of fatigue load. When the load level of the same amplitude is reduced, the fatigue life of SPR joint increases faster than that of clinched joint. The fatigue performance of SPR joint is better than that of clinched joint. The fatigue failure of SPR joint and clinched joint is related to fretting wear. Fretting wear of SPR joint is more severe than that of clinched joint. Fretting wear is the root cause of failure of SPR joint. 7075-T6 aluminum alloy SPR joint has the best mechanical properties
