Abstract

Abstract. The study of the problems of urban areas sustainable development as ‘population ↔ environment’ ecological and urban planning systems in different levels of their functional space integrity revealed a number of principles that initiate ‘wave urbanism’. This a new direction of urban planning theory, that studies the natural features of urbanization processes steady oscillation development, which cyclically accelerate and locally overcome the growth limits due to the ‘gravity’ and ‘magnetism’ of urban centrality in a multi-level ecological space. The above mentioned determines the fundamental law of the open systems sustainable development - the Power Conservation Law, which in the studied plane turns out to be the Law of Ecosystem Self-regulation.
