Abstract The historical city of Zahedan-e Kohneh is located in the southeast of Iran in the province of Sistan and Baluchistan. During the 11th to 15th centuries, this city was Dar al-Hukoma or the central city of Sistan region. In historical sources, this city is mentioned as "Shahr-e Sistan". In other words, the Zahedan-e Kohneh is the remains of the same "Shahr-e Sistan". The results of studies confirm that the city of Zahedan-e Kohneh was built with the utmost precision and elegance, and its builders have mastered various sciences such as: natural geography, geometry,geology, architecture, urban planning and water engineering.
