Title Thermal Stability of ABS/Clay Nanocomposit
Type Presentation
Keywords Nanocomposite, ABS, Nanoclay, Thermal Stability
Abstract Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) is used in many industries because of its special mechanical, thermal, and physical properties. Improving this polymer's thermal stability, and surviving its mechanical properties at a higher temperature, are important. Nowadays, researchers are going to enhance these properties using nanotechnology. In this paper, the thermal stability of ABS was improved by incorporating 5 wt% organoclay (Cloisite 30B). The Thermogravitmic analysis (TGA) showed a 2 wt% decrease in residual mass at 600 °C, a increasein the initiation temperature, and an increase in the final degradation temperature.
