Title Warranty costs analysis under accelerated life test for power Ishita distribution
Type Refereeing
Keywords Accelerated life testing; constant stress; power Ishita distribution; age replacement policy; prorate rebate warranty
Abstract Accelerated life testing(ALTg) and its importance in the modern world has been discussed. The main challenge is how to perform an experiment most efficiently; a scientific approach to experiment arrangement must be employed. The design of an ALTg experiment means that the experiment is planned to provide appropriate data which is collected and analyzed by statistical methods. We discussed the use of ALTg methods to predict the cost of unit age replacement (AR) under a warranty program. Under constant stress, component lifespans are expected to follow the power Ishita distribution. Moreover, the AR strategy is described in the prorate rebate warranty for non-repairable units. Under the warranty program and ALTg programs, the expected cost rate and expected total cost for AR are estimated. An application illustration is also presented to clarify the theoretical outcomes.
