In this paper, the effect of addition of SWCNT and Fullerene Nano particles to the adhesive of CFRP/CFRP single lap joint (SLJ) has been investigated on the fatigue life, both before and after the applying of the hygrothermal conditions. For this reason, different SLJ samples were manufactured containing different percentages (0 to 5 % Vf) of SWCNT, Fullerene and a mixture of both (50-50 %Vf of each of Fullerene and SWCNT) that was designed using Responsive Surface Method (RSM). Hygrothermal conditions of 70℃ temperature and humidity of 100% was then applied to the samples for the duration of 2 weeks after which, compression-tension fatigue testing with the frequency of 20 Hz and R=0.1 was conducted to measure fatigue life of the SLJs. Also, the amount of moisture absorption and failure modes of SLJs were measured and compared. The results showed addition of nano particles, especially Fullerene decreases moister absorption. The number of cycles to failure was increased mostly in the SWCNT and mixed particles SLJs. The effect of hygrothermal aging changed the mode of failure from cohesive to adhesive in most of the samples. Finally, the optimum percentage of particle in order to achieve highest number of cycles to failure (20571 cycles and 22369.7 before and after hygrothermal aging respectively) was 2.18 Vol.% of mixed particle.
