This research develops a single-objective model to optimize the procurement decision of a construction company. Although cost optimisation models are common in manufacturing section, they are less investigated in construction industries. In addition, investigating the insourcing vs. outsourcing problem to assist procurement managers is not addressed via Operations Research (OR) mathematical models. To address this gap, this research is arranged in three linked phases. Firstly, different parameters, elements, and constraints of mathematical model are developed by literature review. Secondly, a mathematical model is developed to optimise the cost. Thirdly, the model is solved in Lingo environment to determine optimum values of objective function and decision variables. Following, the results are investigated to make a trade-off between insourcing and outsourcing. According to the obtained results, while the case study is applying outsourcing to procure its required material, insourcing imposes less cost and should be followed in future decisions.
