This paper aims to analyse the last two decades plans of United Nations ‘Decade of action’ and the evolution of the Construction Supply Chain (CSC) by associating in various significant areas, identifying gaps and future studies that influence the implementation of CSC standards. A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) with Bibliometric analysis is conducted for worldwide available publications in different aspects such as research methodology/data collection technique, inquiry mode, country-specific, focused area, research aim, and publication time period. The current result indicates that Information Technology (IT), Information Sharing (IS), Collaboration, Performance Measurement, and CSC configuration are well researched and analysed, while Financial Management, Supply Chain Resilience (SCR), Logistics, Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI), and Rural CSC (RCSC) have been identified as important areas, but little consideration was made in this direction. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first structured and systematic literature review which identifies the issues related to CSC by analysing United Nations ‘Decade of action’ plans and suggests the future research direction for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of CSC.
